The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will likely be one of the best-selling titles of 2011 on franchise reputation alone, but that's not preventing publisher Bethesda Softworks from rolling out the marketing push. Today, the publisher confirmed through its official blog that those who preorder Skyrim will receive a custom map packed in with their copy of the game at no extra charge.
According to Bethesda, the premium-quality map will be made out of a "high-grade material" similar to burlap, and it is limited to North American and European gamers only. Those who do not preorder the game will receive the same map, but it will be printed on paper.
Skyrim will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on November 11. As with its top-rated predecessor, Skyrim presents open-world action role-playing set in the world of Tamriel. Skyrim itself is the name of the northern territory in which the game is set, and sees players assuming control of a dragon born.
