Scheduled Server Maintenance on September 8, 2011, 4:00am-7:00am CDT Sep 7th 2011, 18:30 The company that hosts viedogame is planning to upgrade our MySQL database software on September 8, 2011 between 4:00am and 7:00am CDT. They will be switching from the standard MySQL to Percona - an improved version of MySQL. The process will take at least 15 minutes and involves shutting down MySQL, installing Percona, and starting Percona. During this time, anything that requires a MySQL database will be unavailable (e.g. viedogame). Based on their info this change will not negatively impact our website. In fact, database performance should actually increase! Additionally, Percona allows them to view statistics on a user by user basis which in turn will allow them to better identify those users abusing resources. This alone will help them to provide a more stable server for everyone involved. They do not expect any issues with the change, but I wanted to let everyone know that if you try visiting viedogame between the times above and the site is offline or displaying errors this is the reason.
