The upcoming Game Developer's Conference China will be held on 12 to 14 November in the Shanghai Exhibition Center in Shanghai, China. The organisers recently announced that the keynote speaker for the event will be Paul Barnett, senior creative director of Bioware Mythic.
His keynote will be called "Global Reach and Local Limits â€" Paul's Personal Truths about Online Game Development" and it will be about how online play has affected game design in terms of geographic proximity and focusing on culture. Barnett's contributions to the game industry include developing Legends of Terris, the largest text-based game in Europe in 1995 and designing Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
Other highlights of GDC China include talks from Canabalt's Adam Saltsman and in-depth looks at iPhone titles Fruit Ninja and Doodle Jump. For more information on the last GDC-organised event, check out GameSpot's coverage on GDC Online.
