Saving Private Ryan, 12 Monkeys, Men in Black artist Matt Codd working with game studio on unannounced title to be published by Electronic Arts.
The first game from Respawn Entertainment--the studio founded by ex-Infinity Ward leads Jason West and Vince Zampella--is shrouded in mystery. Only recently did the studio's website launch, revealing a teaser image of the shop's first title as well as a staff and contractor list that included Star Wars and Harry Potter concept artist Iain McCaig.
Now, Respawn has revealed that it is furthering its Hollywood investment in its new game. According to a new interview posted on Respawn's website, the studio has signed on film veteran Matt Codd to help create the studio's first game.
Codd will serve as art director on Respawn's debut effort. He has never been part of a video game development team but has worked in the art department on several high- budget films, including Saving Private Ryan, 12 Monkeys, and Men in Black.
As for Respawn's first game, little is known about the project. The game's first teaser image shows what appears to be a landscape, with what looks like a building in the foreground. Earlier this month, EA Games boss Frank Gibeau hinted that Respawn's game might be a sci-fi shooter.
