Last Guardian loses executive producer
Dec 8th 2011, 21:21

Following Fumito Ueda departure, Team Ico's Yoshifusa Hayama resigns to take on creative director role at casual developer Bossa Studios.

Team Ico's The Last Guardian has been a long time coming, having first been teased back in 2005. Development on the PlayStation 3 project appears to be winding down, and in kind, Team Ico seems to be shedding some of its top talent.

Last week, word emerged that studio head Fumito Ueda had exited the company, and now executive producer Yoshifusa Hayama is also out. London-based social game maker Bossa Studios announced today that it has snapped up Hayama, naming him creative director at the studio.

Sony had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment on Hayama's departure as of press time. However, Bossa did confirm Hayama's hire, and his profile has been added to the employee roll call on the studio's official website, bearing the title creative director.

Hayama will lead Bossa's efforts to create the studio's first 3D social game. In September, Bossa released its first project, Monstermind, through Facebook. According to the company, the game currently has 380,000 unique monthly users.

As for The Last Guardian, Sony's ambitious action adventure game currently bears no release date. It had previously been scheduled to arrive for the PS3 this holiday season. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
