Menace of the Underdark add-on brings new level cap, druid class, and Forgotten Realms to free-to-play MMORPG; price TBA.
Dungeons & Dragons Online was launched in 2006 and adopted a free-to-play business model in 2009. Now, developer Turbine has announced the next big step in the massively multiplayer online role-playing game's journey: the arrival its first expansion.
Due out this summer, the Menace of the Underdark expansion for the MMORPG raises the game's level cap to 25, adds new zones to journey through, and brings the all-new shape-shifting druid class to the free-to-play title. A price was not provided for the expansion.
As for the new areas players can explore, Menace of the Underdark adds the Forgotten Realms, with players being dropped into the village of Eveningstar to begin their journeys. From there, gamers will encounter Lolth, the spider queen of the Underdark Drow. Additionally, players will be able to explore the Drow capital Shindylryn in the new expansion.
