Port of arcade and Dreamcast classic to be out on January 19.
The sixth installment of the SoulCalibur series (Soul Edge was the first game on arcades) will be out later this month. To celebrate this, Namco Bandai has announced that an iOS version of SoulCalibur will be available for purchase on January 19 on iTunes (via Andriasang).
The port will have all 19 fighters, along with features including arcade battle, time attack, survival, extra survival, practice mode and museum mode. Survival mode, extra survival mode, and time attack mode will be compatible with the iOS' Game Center leaderboards. Like most console ports, the game features a virtual control pad for players to pull off attacks and evasive maneuvers. Namco Bandai did not disclose details about any form of multiplayer or the game's retail price.
SoulCalibur on the Dreamcast received critical acclaim back in 1999 thanks to its high-end graphics, its numerous modes, and fighting engine.
