Sony amends PS Vita AT&T data plan prices
Jan 23rd 2012, 17:09

Upper package increased from $25/2GB to $30/3GB of data per month; $15/250MB plan remains intact.

Two weeks ago, telecommunications giant AT&T announced data plan prices for the 3G iteration of the PlayStation Vita, saying gamers could elect to pay monthly fees of $15/250MB or $25/2GB. Now, Sony has amended the latter, giving gamers an option to pay more for additional data.

According to the landing page for the $299 3G version of the PS Vita, the new upper data plan is $30/3GB, an increase of $5 per month for an additional gigabyte of data. The $15/250MB data plan remains intact, and both options are no-contract, month-to-month offers.

AT&T is the exclusive service provider in the US for the PS Vita. Customers who buy into AT&T's service plan for the PS Vita will also have free access to more than 24,000 Wi-Fi hot spots nationwide.

The PS Vita was released in Japan in December and is due out in North America and Europe on February 22, with an Australian release following a day later. For more on Sony's latest portable gaming device, check out GameSpot's interview with Sony's John Koller, embedded below.
