NCAA Football 12 two-week sales surge to 700,000
Jul 26th 2011, 16:46

College gridiron simulator sells 17 percent more out of the gate; 870,000 online games played, 50,000 Dynasties created, 1 million custom teams made.

Following the release of the well-received Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters in March, EA Sports proclaimed series-best first-week sales of 225,000 units for the golf sim. Now, the publisher is declaring success with another sports game, today saying NCAA Football 12 has sold 700,000 units since it launched earlier this month on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

EA further trumpeted the new collegiate gridiron game, saying the 700,000 units it has sold thus far is good for a 17 percent improvement over last year's NCAA Football 11. All numbers are based on EA's internal estimates from the period of July 12-26.

EA offered additional insight to the game's first two weeks on the market, saying during that time users have played some 870,000 online games, created 50,000 Dynasties, and built 1 million custom teams using the TeamBuilder website.
