In June this year Sucker Punch released the sequel to its 2009 open-world action adventure game Infamous, giving protagonist Cole a new spate of electrical superpowers and a new mission creation tool.
Now, in an announcement made on the official PlayStation Blog, Sucker Punch have detailed the upcoming DLC release for Infamous 2, titled Festival of Blood.
The standalone single player DLC will be available for download via PSN in October and will center around an invading swarm of vampires in New Marais. After being bitten himself, Cole has one night to track down and kill the head vampire in order to save both his soul and the city.
The pack will feature new missions, themed environment settings, as well as new characters and enemies. Sucker Punch have also revealed that because this is a standalone DLC pack, previous Infamous games will not be needed to play Festival of Blood.
According to Sucker Punch, players have spent a total of 451,251 hours--or 51 years--playing Infamous 2's user generated content missions.
Earlier this month Sony revealed it had acquired Sucker Punch, making the Bellevue, Washington-based studio the publisher's 16th wholly owned studio.
