Gamers can get their hands on the full version of THQ's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine on September 6, when the title launches for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. However, players won't need to wait that long to try out the game, as THQ has announced a demo for the game will roll out next week.
The Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine demo will arrive on Xbox Live and for the PC on August 23. It will be followed by an August 24 launch on the PlayStation Network. Additionally, those who preordered the digital version of the game for the PC can jump into the demo this Thursday, August 18.
As for the demo itself, THQ says the trial features two "very different" environments from the game. In the first, gamers will use an arsenal of six distinct weapons to battle an Ork horde. The second part of the demo has players experiencing the game's Jump Pack action to descend upon the Emperor's foes from the skies above.
As for the full game, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine casts players as Captain Titus of the Ultramarine chapter of the Space Marines, one of humanity's last hopes in an intergalactic war against the sinister Orks.
Players are charged with defending an Imperial Forge World from the Orkish invasion, a task made more complicated when the forces of Chaos make their presence known.
