Call of Duty Elite premium video show hits this Friday
Nov 23rd 2011, 21:16

Soldiers square off in Modern Warfare 3 for first episode of weekly series exclusive to shooter social network's paid tier.

Call of Duty Elite's launch was fraught with issues, but the service is finally operational for both paid and free members. Now it's time for the premium perks to start differentiating the two tiers of the service, starting with original video content.

Activision today announced that Call of Duty Elite's first original programming will be coming to the service this Friday, November 25. Executive produced by Ridley Scott and Tony Scott's RSA Films, the new weekly series is called Friday Night Fights and will pit real-life rivals against each other in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 matches. The first episode will see the US Army go up against the US Navy.

Episodes of Friday Night Fights will premiere on Fridays at noon Pacific time and will be available on demand after their initial broadcast. All episodes can be accessed by premium members via the Call of Duty Elite program guide.

Elite provides players with gameplay statistics, video sharing, and clan support features for free, but those who shell out for the $50 annual subscription will also receive all downloadable content released in the year, as well as exclusive video content and other perks. Activision recently reported that more than 4 million free and premium members have registered for Call of Duty Elite to date.
