Vietnam and Thailand have been highlighted as big earners by Niko Partners' report.

The Southeast Asian games market is ever growing, with local distributors like IAHGames and Asiasoft supporting established massively multiplayer online games, while releasing new ones for the region. Based on Niko Partners' recently published research data, the regional market consisting of Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam will double in revenue by 2015.

According to the report, Vietnam has the largest revenue among the six countries on the report, while Thailand has the highest revenue per paid user, despite not having the biggest online games revenue in the region. This was likely due to Thai gamers' interest in Chinese MMO role-playing games.

The combined revenues of the aforementioned countries will gross $474 million within 2011, and it will grow close to $1 billion by 2015. The estimated figures are based on sales generated from about 100 million gamers within the regions.

Niko Partners thinks that payment solutions in the region have yet to be developed fully and that companies who use the most cost-effective and cross-border solutions will thrive in the local business. The research company also stated that Indonesia is a market to watch, due to the country's interest in Facebook games.
