Metal Gear Solid creator posts picture of Snake Eater 3D edition of Nintendo handheld hardware, pricing and release information expected later this month.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater is getting a 3D makeover early this year, and so is the hardware that will run it. Over the holiday break, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima released a teaser picture of a new version of the 3DS featuring an embossed snake skin pattern on the lid.
Kojima posted the picture to his Twitter account, along with a note calling the snake skin hardware an industry first. He also noted that more information about the system, including pricing, should be revealed January 20.
Set for release March 8 in Japan and sometime in the first quarter in North America, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is a port of the PlayStation 2 stealth game with tweaks designed to take advantage of the 3DS hardware. These include 3D visuals, as well as touch pad and camera support.
