Avalanche teases three projects by 2014
Feb 27th 2012, 22:43

Avalanche Studios is projecting a flurry of activity for 2013 and 2014. Today, the Stockholm, Sweden-based Just Cause developer said that it has a trio of big budget titles in development, the first of which will be announced prior to July.

The ramp up in production comes as the result of the studio opening a new development house in New York City last November. At the time of that studio's announcement, the company said former Mindspark Interactive creative director Roland Lesterlin would serve as game director on a project due for release in 2014.

Avalanche's New York office has been a source of pride for the developer since its inception. In January, the company announced that it had secured senior-level talent from a number of high-profile development houses, including Insomniac, Sucker Punch, BioWare, Ubisoft Montreal, Volition, Bethesda, Sony Online, and DreamWorks Animation, to name a few.

The independent development company is best known for its well-regarded open world action franchise Just Cause, the most recent installment from which launched in March 2010. In September, the company released Renegade Ops, a vehicular dual-stick shooter that received a favorable critical reception.

More information on Avalanche's goings-on can be found through its newly launched website.
