Time Warner's video streaming application coming to Microsoft's Xbox 360 online platform alongside premiere of Game of Thrones season 2.
The HBO Go app for Xbox Live will arrive on April 1, Engadget is reporting.
The news comes from a HBO event in San Francisco last night, where company co-president Eric Kessler revealed the app's release date to the site. The release of HBO Go on Xbox Live on April 1 will coincide with the Game of Thrones season 2 premiere.
The HBO Go app for Xbox Live was originally intended to launch on consoles by the end of 2011. However, it was absent from a December Xbox Live dashboard update, and was rescheduled to early 2012 for that platform.
No mention was made concerning when or if the HBO Go app will arrive for the PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii.
The HBO Go service--which requires an HBO subscription--lets viewers access on-demand programming, which includes True Blood, Entourage, and Game of Thrones. It launched in early 2010 for Web browsers and has since spread to iOS and Android devices.
