BioWare's latest space-faring role-playing game breaks reservation targets ahead of March 6 debut for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
BioWare's Mass Effect 3 hits store shelves on March 6, and the game will arrive with momentum from better-than-expected preorder figures. Electronic Arts has confirmed to MCV that reservations for Mass Effect 3 are pacing "well ahead" of Mass Effect 2 at the same time.
EA product manager Will Graham elaborated, saying the preorder figures for Mass Effect 3 have broken internal estimates. Graham also noted that players can expect an active marketing campaign for Mass Effect 3, including spots on television shows, films, billboards, and online.
The launch of Mass Effect 3 marks the first time an entry in the series has simultaneously shipped for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Mass Effect 3 is the final entry in the role-playing game franchise, but not necessarily the final game in the series. It follows Commander Shepard and a crew of teammates as they battle invading Reapers on Earth and in space.
