Game giant releases final update of four-color fiction for portable, shifting efforts to "bringing the comic service to other Sony devices."
Sony has offered gamers new comics to read every week since the PSP Digital Comics store launched in 2009, but that practice is no longer "to be continued."
Sony has announced via the PlayStation Blog that this week's PSP Digital Comics update will be the very last. According to Sony, the Digital Comics team will now shift its focus to "bringing the comic service to other Sony devices," presumably the forthcoming PlayStation Vita.
Although weekly updates to the PSP Digital Comics store are ceasing, the store itself--which boasts over 4,000 titles--remains open for business. The final batch of new titles added to the store this week include Batman Beyond Vol. 2 #16, Doctor Who: A Fairytale Life #2, Star Trek: Volume 1 #0, Quarantined #1, and more.
