Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport 4 has ended FIFA 12’s two-week reign atop the UK charts, debuting at number one. Forza 4's critical acclaim meant that it managed the biggest-ever launch week for an Xbox 360 racing game--but still only beat FIFA 12 (the sales of which were down 63 percent from last week) by a little over 700 sales, according to UK sales-tracking body Chart-Track.
Just Dance 3 rounded off the top three, with the Wii version following the trail blazed by the record-breaking Just Dance 2 on Nintendo's platform; in launch week more than 11 copies were sold on Wii for every one sold on Xbox 360. The PS3 version is not due for release until December.
This week saw Gears of War 3 continue its drop down the charts, falling from fourth to sixth, while Dark Souls dropped from third to seventh. There was also big debuts for Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 and Jonah Lomu Rubgy Challenge, debuting at fifth and tenth respectively. Zumba Fitness continues to feature in the top ten, this week at number eight, with id Software’s Rage and Codemaster’s F1 2011 rounding off the top ten.
