Need for Speed: The Run is set to bring story back to EA's long-running racing franchise, and Christina Hendricks, the actress behind Mad Men favorite Joan Harris, and Sean Faris of The Vampire Diaries fame, are on board in starring roles.
EA today announced Hendricks and Faris will lend their voices and likenesses to The Run. Additionally, the actors are providing motion-capture performances for their characters.
Developed by EA Black Box, The Run includes a Story mode set during a cross-country road race from San Francisco to New York. The game is built using DICE's Frostbite 2 engine (the same technology at the heart of Battlefield 3) and features the return of the Autolog online functionality, which lets players compare their progress and performance with friends.
In the game's Story mode, Hendricks plays Sam Harper, the catalyst for Jack Rourke's (Faris) entry into The Run's cross-country race. Harper, a manager of sorts to outlaw racers, serves as the player's "eyes and ears" on the road. As Rourke tries to escape a mob bounty on his head, Harper is looking to grab a share of the race's $25 million prize.
Need for Speed: The Run is set for a November 15 release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, 3DS, and Wii. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
