Alpha version of voxel-based indie action adventure released in charitable promotion with Humble Indie Bundle creator.
Humble Bundle Inc. promotions have traditionally let gamers get a pack of independent games while naming their own price, with the option to divide that money up between the game's creators, the Humble organizers, and selected charities. However, the group's latest offering is not a bundle, but the debut of a stand-alone indie game.
Announced via the Humble Indie Bundle blog, the new "Humble Voxatron Debut" marks the launch of the alpha version of the indie action adventure game Voxatron. Developed by Lexaloffle Games Ltd., Voxatron features a variety of shooting and platforming gameplay and uses 3D pixel technology, called voxels. A level editor ships with the game, and a monster creation tool is slated for future release.
This is the first time a single game has been given its own promotion through a Humble Bundle Inc. promotion. As with previous bundled offerings, there is no set price. Any amount over $1 is accepted, and payments can be split between developer Lexaloffle Games Ltd., the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Child's Play, and Humble Bundle Inc. at the purchaser's discretion.
The Voxatron alpha supports Windows, Mac, and Linux and will cost $15 when offered outside of the Humble Voxatron Debut promotion.
