Gamers eager to immerse themselves in written Darksiders lore before the launch of Darksiders II this summer will have two new pieces of work to peruse: a novel and a world bible.
Darksiders: The Abomination Vault, due in May, is an all-new piece of Darksiders fiction, set millennia before the events of the first game in the series. It follows the pursuits of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse and documents their efforts to curb a plot to destroy the universe.
The novel was written by Ari Marmell, who penned novels set in the Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons universes. It will be published by Del Rey, a division of Random House.
A Darksiders world bible was also announced today, but the publisher did not offer further information about it. Typically, a world bible is a comprehensive guide that offers information about items and inhabitants of a particular universe.
As for the latest Darksiders game, Darksiders II is due out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this summer. For more on that title, check out GameSpot's latest preview.
