Phoenix Wright movie set for worldwide release - Report
Jan 31st 2012, 22:39

Director Takeshi Miike uses film festival premiere to reveal Capcom's legal eagle flying to theaters around the world with region-specific dubbing and subtitles.

Western Phoenix Wright fans are going to get a chance to see the ace attorney's feature film premiere after all. According to a Twitch report from this year's International Film Festival Rotterdam, director Takashi Miike revealed at a screening of the Japanese movie that it would be released worldwide.

The Twitch review describes the film as "a love-it or hate-it affair" and "a quirky yet dangerous barrel of fun." The movie reportedly closely follows the plotline in the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game, in which the titular barrister solves the first cases of his career, including the murder of his own boss. To fit in all five cases from the original game, Miike's movie clocks in at a lengthy two hours and 10 minutes.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney adventure games see players control the aforementioned defense attorney as he defends his clients via cross-examinations. For more, check out GameSpot's review of the original DS installment of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
