The Bloody Roar series, created by Hudson Soft, was known for its fighters changing into half-animal creatures in battle, with the last title being Bloody Roar 4. Hudson Soft, now a subsidiary of Konami, has recently announced that there will be a new Bloody Roar in the works.
According to Hudson Soft's recent post on their official Twitter feed, the 3D fighting game will include the "original cast" from past titles, with new characters also in the works. There is no release window for the game since the project started only three days ago on October 1. Hudson Soft also stated that the game will be "more of a reboot" and will be out on the Xbox 360 and PS3. When asked if the game will be on other platforms, the company stated that it will not be on the Wii U due to "too many issues".
The first Bloody Roar game was released in 1997 and was labeled as "one of the more original and exciting fighting games" of its time. The last Bloody Roar title, which was Bloody Roar 4 for the PS2, earned above average reviews but was criticised for being a "predictable follow-up to a series that had never aimed particularly high".
