Next year, Capcom will once again prove the old adage that it's hard to keep a good zombie down. Or any zombie, for that matter. The publisher today announced that it will release Resident Evil Revelations in North America on February 7.
Following up on this year's action-focused Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Revelations will try to return the series to its survival horror roots. The game will follow Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in an episodic story-driven adventure set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. The agents are once again on a mission to discover the truth behind a zombie outbreak, with this one stemming from the T-Abyss virus. Resident Evil Revelations is also one of the announced titles compatible with the 3DS analog slide pad attachment, which has not yet been confirmed for release outside Japan.
Capcom has also teamed with specialty retailer GameStop to sweeten the deal for potential preorder customers. When they go to pick up the game, those who reserve a copy with the specialty retailer will receive a Resident Evil Revelations-branded 3DS case with an image that changes in sunlight.
