Ezio and Mario bring the Italian flavor to new release shelves alongside Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Saints Row: The Third.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may have come out last week, but that doesn't mean there aren't any more big multiplayer games or shooters on the way. Two Italians are back this week with Ezio in Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Mario in Super Mario 3D Land. Master Chief is set to deliver a big dose of nostalgia with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, as could Jurassic Park: The Game. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 introduces more fighters, and Saints Row: The Third will do something…ridiculous.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations marks the close of Ezio's story, and Ubisoft's second crack at its sneaky style of multiplayer on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. This time out, Ezio will seek out the haunts of original Assassin's Creed protagonist Altair, visiting such Middle East strongholds as the Ottoman Empire's Constantinople. There, Ezio will once again take up arms against the Templar order.
Meanwhile, Mario is making his first outing on the 3DS in Super Mario 3D Land. Super Mario 3D Land contains both 2D and 3D sequences with an all-new perspective on platforming that puts a twist on the traditional Mario formula, in which players are tasked with traversing the game's eight worlds on another quest to save the Princess.
The game that defined the Xbox is back, and prettier than ever on the Xbox 360. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary returns to Master Chief's introduction, and layers on a helping of HD graphics. The full package includes a remastered campaign, Xbox Live co-op support, and seven bundled multiplayer maps.
Anyone who played Saints Row 2 knows the series has its quirks. Saints Row: The Third for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC looks to build upon those quirks and deliver full-blown mania. The Third picks up with the player running the Third Street Saints. Once a small-town gang, the Saints have grown to control the organized crime within Stilwater and even have their own brand, with licensed sneakers, energy drinks, and bobbleheads.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 brings the over-the-top fighting mash-up back for another round with 12 new characters over Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which debuted in February. The full roster of new fighter includes Nova, Rocket Racoon, Iron Fist, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, and Hawkeye on the Marvel side. Capcom's corner gains Frank West, Vergil, Phoenix Wright, Nemesis, Firebrand, and Strider. Eight new stages and various gameplay enhancements are also part of the new $40 package for Xbox 360 and PS3.
Jurassic Park: The Game represents Telltale Games' second movie-to-game adaptation in the past year. The story takes place during the events of the 1993 film of the same name, but it follows a different set of characters. It focuses a chief veterinarian at the park and his young daughter as they try to make their way across a tropical island while avoiding destructive--and often hungry--dinosaurs running amok. Jurassic Park: The Game is another $40 title set for release on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Mac.
