Legendary RPG Title Returns with Stereoscopic 3D Graphics and Touch Screen Controls,
SAN JOSE, Calif., (February 14, 2012) â€" Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today announced that Tales of the Abyss® for the Nintendo 3DSâ„¢ system is now available in North America. The highly acclaimed and fan-favorite entry of NAMCO BANDAI Games’ Tales of series comes with new Touch Screen controls for battles as well as stereoscopic 3D graphics for enhanced immersion into an epic story of redemption and friendship.
Tales of the Abyss tells the story of Luke fon Fabre, sole heir to a family of aristocrats, as he is suddenly thrust into the outside world on an epic adventure. Naïve and spoiled by years of isolation, Luke struggles to learn about friendship, sacrifice, duty and choice. With the fates of many in his hands, Luke’s actions could ultimately save the world or bring about its very destruction.
The series’ trademark real-time battle system returns with the “Flex Range Linear Motion Battle System.†This versatile battle system allows for increased mobility in combat as players attack, defend, and perform special skills. In addition to the unique battle system, Tales of the Abyss also includes elements that have become synonymous with the series including a cooking system to craft various items, skits to delve deeper into the motivations and personalities of the playable characters, a grading system and titles for players to earn by completing certain tasks.
Tales of the Abyss is developed by NAMCO TALES STUDIO LTD. and will carry an ESRB rating of “T†for teen and MSRP of $39.99. In addition to Tales of the Abyss, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. will also be releasing Tales of Graces™ f, exclusively for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on March 13, 2012 for North America.
