Twisted Metal movie on the way - Report Feb 15th 2012, 14:45 Sony Pictures reaches seven-figure deal with Ghost Rider, Crank co-director Brian Taylor to write and direct live action take on vehicular combat game. The vehicular combat Twisted Metal franchise is leaping to the big screen, according to film news site Deadline. Twisted Metal is riding to Hollywood. The site is reporting that Sony Pictures has made a seven-figure deal with Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance co-director Brian Taylor to write and direct a film based on the game. Taylor also co-directed action movies Crank, its sequel, and Gamer. This Twisted Metal movie will be the first film Taylor directs on his own. According to the site, the Twisted Metal film will focus on an "underground event" that has a string of combatants dueling to the death in weaponized vehicles. The leader of the race will be Calypso, a "string-puller," who will grant the victor any wish they choose. Deadline is also reporting that the iconic murderous clown Sweet Tooth will appear in the film alongside the masked Doll Face. No further information regarding the Twisted Metal movie was provided. Writing on Twitter, Twisted Metal developer David Jaffe cheekily said, "This just in: the recently announce [sic] Twisted Metal movie will contain no story. Because from what I hear I hate stories.
